I had an amazing experience on Tuesday, February 28th. Our basketball team traveled to Southeastern University to play in the semi-finals of the state tournament against Northlake Christian. The arena we played in was a lot bigger and fancier than any gym I have ever played in. It was an expected awe. I mean it is a college basketball arena, it's going to be a little different from the Phillips Gym.
Even before the game started people were screaming and I could not hear myself think. We were all so proud of our team for making it that far. Throughout the game the loudness continued and the nerves did not settle down. The team began to loose and we started to feel defeated but we kept our chins up and did not stop cheering and fighting until the buzzer sounded. To our surprise, we lost. We were all in shock and tears, but we constantly talked about how much we have grown. We told each other thank you for such an amazing season and how we all feel like sisters and we wouldn't have wanted to spend the last 7 months of basketball, weekends, bus rides, and more with anyone else. I will never forget this past basketball season and all of my teammates. I am so happy to have gotten the chance to go to Southeastern because that is not something that happens to every team every year.
This sounds like a great experience it's great how the team looked at the loss in a positive way and realized how much ya'll have grown together!
ReplyDeleteI could not imagine how daunting of a task it was to play in a collage basketball arena. I am glad that y'all had a great season and became a family while doing it.
ReplyDeleteThis seem like a very fun experience. Great job on the team for taking the loss in a positive way.
